And Thier Off!

Even though these children do belong to David and I, they somehow inherited a sports gene. Nachi is enjoying playing baseball, Yehudit is kicking away at soccer David and I get to utilize our orginizational skills by trying to coordinate who will be driving to and from each game (there are about 4 -5 a week), when the kids need to be at practice and who will be there to cheer them on.

Cherry Marmalade Bars

Here is something yummy for all you marmalade fans. I've been working on perfecting this recipe ever sice I came across a lovely little jar of gourmet marmalade in a cute little shop during our summer vacation. I can't rmember the name of the shop, and I've long since used up the cute little jar but I still make these bars almost every week for Shabbat breakfast. Enjoy!

½ c. oil or butter
½ c. sugar
½ c. brown sugar
¾ tsp. Baking powder
¼ tsp. Baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 c. flour
½ c. dried cherries
¼ c. orange marmalade
½ c. oatmeal

1 Preheat oven to 350
2 Mix butter with sugars, baking powder and baking soda
3 Beat in eggs and vanilla
4 Add flour, dried cherries and spread into a greased pan
5 Bake 25 – 30 minutes
6 Allow to cool and cut into bars
