On the morning of Monday 3rd May 2010 Londoners woke up to find their city had been invaded by 250 brightly coloured life-sized baby elephant statues each weighing in at 154 lb. It was part of a campaign by The Elephant Family Charity to raise awareness of the plight of the endangered Asian elephant. Each elephant statue was beautifully decorated by an artist or celebrity and at the end of June all the statues will be for sale by auction with all proceeds going to elephant conservation.
Ruth braved the jungle one day to seek out these baby elephants and found many of them standing happily in just one park alone. She took many photos and here are some of the better ones.
